Discover Kauai's hidden secrets from the air!

In this fifth episode of our series of Hawaiian adventures, I take you on a journey to discover the island of Kauai from the air! It's a unique island, sculpted by 5 million years of volcanism, erosion and teeming life. Get ready to explore breathtaking landscapes: towering cliffs, spectacular canyons and endless beaches.

🌋 An island born from volcanoes

Kauai is the oldest of the main islands of the Hawaiian archipelago. Flying over it reveals a fascinating patchwork of geological formations: cliffs, volcanic plateaus and gullies carved by millions of years of erosion.

🏞 Waimea Canyon: the Grand Canyon of the Pacific

This canyon, 16 km long and over 1100 m deep, is a masterpiece sculpted by the rivers. Between the reddish hues of the oxidised basalt and the lush vegetation, the spectacle is breathtaking.

🌊 The Na Pali coast and its impressive cliffs

Na Pali, "the cliffs", lives up to its name. These immense jagged walls dominate the sea and hide isolated valleys, only accessible on foot, by boat or from the air.

🌱 Native forests and natural dynamics

In the centre of the island, Mount Waialeale, one of the wettest places on Earth, feeds countless watercourses. The protected forests filter the water, stabilise the soil and are home to exceptional biodiversity.

📽 In the footsteps of Jurassic Park

Kauai is also a film star! Its extraordinary landscapes were used as the backdrop for the famous Jurassic Park franchise. Flying over the island, it's easy to see why...
